Live music will bookend the entire event, bringing small and big acts alike. BauHaus Brew Labs and Francis Burger Joint are sponsors to the Beer Garden right next to the South Stage at 14th Avenue. Northeast neighbors, Lone Rock Bride, will kick off with achingly beautiful steel-pedaled Americana. Next, from the short-list of 2024's Best New Bands, comes Minneapolis-based Kiernan, with an indie folk rock sound that carries subtle accents of alt-country and intimate songwriting from lead vocalist Laura Kiernan. Minneapolis musician, actor, social activist and educator, Toussaint Morrison, will bring his vast archive of powerful and productive hip-hop, ushering in a brand new album SHPSHFTR. Headlining is Nigerian-born, Minneapolis-based Obi Original and the Black Atlantics, bringing a high-energy afrobeat, funk and afro-rock.
Longtime Northeast favorites, the Bullfrogs take the stage at 11:30 with their take on what folk and Americana sounds like with sslides, resonators, mandolins, guitars and more. Next up is Peter Ruddy, a humble, unassuming musician, that is, until he picks up his guitar and plays! Celtic music, finger picking from the sounds of Leo Kottke and more will mesmerize you. Celeste Yeats is up next moving you deeply with her subtle yet powerful songs, followed by beautiful Latina vocalist Stepnanie Mendoza to round out the day.
